When you are viewing these records, the census reference displayed at the top of the detail page is made up as follows:
First is the GRO reference (eg RG9/1432 or HO107/1631). This defines which set of records we have.
Next are a series of one or more parts, separated by hyphens. This will look something like: E:4-F:345-P:4-S:34
The parts of this are made up as follows:

E:4	This is the Enumeration District
F:345	This is the folio number, found on the top right of every second page
P:4	This is the page number, found in the middle of each page.
S:34	This is the sequence number. Each household is given a unique number in each enumeration district.
